The Sussex Cattle Society

A NATIVE BREED, SINCE 1878

Profitable, easy, quality beef from a traditional British breed

The Sussex Cattle Society has been preserving, promoting and improving the Sussex breed for over 145 years; a hardy, docile, grass-finished native breed perfectly suited to modern beef production.

Formed in 1878 to maintain and improve the breed, the Society today supports a network of pedigree breeders across the United Kingdom and overseas — keeping the Sussex true to type while championing its place in modern, low-input, grass-based farming systems.
